    How Earn Your Ground Works

This game is built to reward showing up, building momentum, moving with other people, and getting healthier over time.

What The Game Is Trying To Do

This game is about more than territory. It is about helping people move more, build confidence, and stay connected through shared effort and community support.

Earn Your Ground is built to reward showing up, not just winning. A short walk counts. A slower pace matters. A hard day does not erase your progress. The goal is to make movement feel visible, meaningful, and worth returning to.

Not everyone starts from the same place, and this game is not only for the fastest or strongest person in the group. It is meant to give people a reason to get out the door, a way to see their progress, and a way to build momentum with other people over time.

We know the hardest part is not always the miles or the pace. Sometimes it is choosing to move when life itself feels hard to carry.

On the map, you earn your ground by moving. In real life, you earn your ground by showing up for yourself, staying with it, and building something stronger with the people around you. Every session is a chance to gain confidence, build momentum, help your people, and take back a little more of the life you want to live.

At its best, this game turns consistency into confidence, effort into encouragement, and movement into something bigger than a workout. It becomes proof that you are still growing, still building, and still moving forward. Start where you are, keep going, and Earn Your Ground!

    The Main Idea

You move in the real world to claim land on the shared map. A valid session can help you, your team, or your platoon take land, defend land, and earn score.

    • Pick how you are moving: Stroller, Walker, Runner, or Rucker.
    • Pick who the session is for: you, your team, or your platoon.
    • Start the session before you move and choose your route type.
    • Finish the route to turn your movement into land, score, and progress.

    Goals And Milestones

Goals and milestones give you simple targets to work toward.

    • Set goals for miles, sessions, loops, patrols, streaks, or distance.
    • Use them to stay moving even when you are not chasing a big map play.
    • Bonus challenges give you more ways to beat your past effort.
    • Feed posts stay general, so people can cheer for you without seeing private details.

    Achievements

Achievements give you clear targets to chase while you play.

    • To unlock them, finish real gameplay claims in the campaign and operation type the badge is tracking.
    • Some badges reward lots of sessions. Some reward big claims. Some reward total land over time.
    • The Achievements screen shows your open targets first.
    • When you unlock one, you get a popup and the feed celebrates it.

    Tactics

    • Loop: come back near where you started to capture the space inside your route. Use this when you want to grab more land.
    • Patrol: go out and come back to build a long path. Use this when a full loop does not make sense.
    • Open Loop: if your loop does not close but still works as a patrol, the game saves it as a patrol and leaves a yellow marker for 48 hours.

Finish the missing part before the timer ends and the patrol turns into a loop. Loops are best for grabbing space. Patrols are best for pushing into hard-to-loop areas. Repeating real work inside ground you already hold can slowly grow that ground over time too.

    Shared Map

All movement types play on the same map. That means route choice and teamwork matter more than speed alone.

    • Your ground is shown as one shared owned shape on the map, even when it was built by different campaign types or operation types.
    • Solo claims are shown in green.
    • Your Team claims are shown in light blue, and Your Platoon claims are shown in cyan.
    • Allied claims from your current team or platoon use non-red allied colors.
    • Enemy claims stay in the red family, and Contested claims stay amber.
    • Use the colors to see where to expand, where to defend, and where enemies are pushing.
    • Use the session log and ranks when you want the detailed breakdown of how the ground was earned.

    Allies And Reinforcement

When you move through land already held by your team or platoon, you help protect it instead of taking it over.

    • Same team and same platoon claims are allied.
    • HQ gives you a bigger group to belong to, but it does not make land allied by itself.
    • Walking, running, rucking, or strolling through allied land gives the people involved support points.
    • The claim you help gains defense. That makes it harder to steal for about 24 hours.
    • Defended land shows a thicker border on the map, and tapping it tells you how much route work an attacker must do to break through it.
    • Only open or enemy land becomes new territory. Allied land stays with the same owner and gets stronger instead.
    • Use this when you want to protect key lanes, borders, or spots your group needs to hold.

    How Scoring Works

Scoring rewards showing up, finishing routes, and making smart choices.

    1. Participation: finish a valid session to earn score at all.
    2. Consistency: keep coming back often and your sessions grow in value.
    3. Collective Effort: move with other people in the same team or platoon effort and the work you do together counts more.
    4. Personal Improvement: hit milestones, bonus challenges, and goals to add more progress.
    5. Route Quality: close a loop to grab space, or finish a patrol to build a lane and earn score from it.
    • Loop claims and patrol claims both create score when you finish the route.
    • Consistency adds a multiplier as you keep showing up.
    • Campaign balance helps slower movement styles stay in the fight.
    • Reinforcement adds support points and makes allied land harder to steal for about 24 hours.
    • Homebuilding can slowly grow land you already hold when you keep putting real distance, effort, and consistency into it.
    • The best scoring sessions match the right route shape to the right moment on the map.

    Help

Open Help from the hamburger menu when something is not working right.

    • Refresh My Board is in Help when your phone or browser is not matching what you see on another device.
    • Location help is in Help when Start Run does not respond because location was blocked.
    • Report A Problem is in the hamburger menu if the issue keeps happening after the Help steps.
    • Use Help when PC and mobile are showing different claim results or when your map needs a fresh sync.
